Facts: Tigers are the largest living wild cat. Found in parts of southeast Asia and Siberia, tigers are an endangered species; they once spanned a far greater range throughout Asia. There are several subspecies of tigers, including Siberian and Bengal; there are also White Tigers, which are a color mutation of other tigers. Tigers generally hunt medium- to large-sized prey, such as deer, wild cattle, and rhinos, and they have even been known to bring down adult male elephants. Stealth and power are the tools of the tiger; their stripes hide them from their prey, and their jaws and forepaws make formidable weapons. There is great variation in size between male and female tigers: males range from 400 to 700 pounds and 8.5 to 10.75 feet long, while females weigh only 220 to 400 pounds and are 7.5 to 9 feet in length. Unlike most other wild cats, tigers are excellent swimmers. (facts from Wikipedia.org - Tiger)
